There is nothing in the world that matches the splendor and the gentle beauty of Persian antique carpet craftsmanship. Among many weaving centers originating from this historic land, Tabriz is considered one of the finest, having probably the most diverse display of designs from medallion, Herati/Mahi, to figural, pictorial, and even 3d-shaped Persian rugs.
The antique rug before your eyes embodies the upmost quality and the unmatched artistry of Tabriz creations. Its deep sapphire field is gently embellished with an allover lattice of palmettes and flowering vinery with iconic vase motifs, extremely characteristic to Persian rug art. This blooming thicket is enclosed within a series of equally captivating dusty peach palmette and millefleur borders with geometric additives.
The rug, as befits a genuine Tabriz piece, was masterfully hand-knotted of the first-rate wool in accordance with centuries-old techniques by a skilled artisan. Only such thorough execution could ensure the high knot density which allowed the intricacy of the design and the remarkable quality that is visible even a hundred years after the making. The Persian tabriz rug will become a gem of any contemporary interior, bringing in the glamour and palatial chic of an oriental palace.
