The antique Feraghan rug before your eyes is an exceptionally beautiful example of Persian craft. Its captivating light brown main field carries an allover herati pattern in shades of beige and blue within a beige and blue serrated leaf and flower head border. Herati one of the most recognizable and iconic oriental designs comprises of a flower inside a rhombus surrounded by four acanthus-leaves. These leafs are sometimes called fishes and the pattern is often used on carpets with an all-over/repeated motif.
The antique Persian Feraghan rug was made by hand out of high-quality wool in accordance with traditional techniques which ensured its durability and uniqueness. Due to careful execution, the piece was able to survive until this day in perfect condition. If properly maintained, it will serve its owners for generations without the slightest signs of wear.
