The board was … Read more This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-shaped alaia surfboard object made from solid wood in my Pasadena, California studio.

The board was shaped entirely by hand using traditional woodworking techniques. The surface is finished with a natural oil process that emphasizes warmth, depth, and the inherent character of the wood rather than a high-build or synthetic gloss. The result is a tactile, understated finish that will continue to develop a rich patina over time.

Inspired by traditional alaia forms, this piece is intended as a sculptural object or wall-mounted work. It is not glassed and has no fins. Subtle variations in tone and surface reflect the handmade nature of the piece and are considered part of its character. See less
