A rare and stylish set of vintage dining chairs, the iconic "Padova" model designed by Hank Lowenstein. Manufactured in Italy in the 1970s, these chairs embody the Italian Mid-Century Modern or Brutalist design aesthetic. They feature solid, heavy wood frames, likely beech wood, stained in a dark finish, with a comfortable, curved top rail. The seats are crafted from hand-woven natural rush, which adds a beautiful textural contrast and a grounded, sculptural feel to any dining space.
The chairs are marked "Made in Italy". Hank Lowenstein chairs, to my knowledge, are not marked.
