The composition reflects the genre tradition popular in German porcelain at the time, with an emphasis on domestic themes.

In her right hand she holds a small needle case, while the basket is moulded with a woven surface accented in blue. The base is decorated in naturalistic tones with applied scrollwork. The underside shows two firing holes related to ventilation and pressure control during firing, reflecting the complexity of production, and bears a blue underglaze mark of the period.

A well-sized and visually engaging example of early Thuringian porcelain.
