They are Mexican, purchased during a trip in 1960. Created by Indigenous artists in Mexico, they are hand-painted and framed with glass in a bamboo-shaped wooden frame, perfect for decorating any corner of your home. They are in perfect condition. Painting dimensions: 73 x 34 cm / Bark dimensions: 57 x 24 cm. These paintings depict traditional Mexican scenes, full of beautiful colors and landscapes. The animals, trees, and flowers are so vibrant they almost come to life. You'll never tire of seeing these stories hand-painted on amate bark by the Nahua people of southern Mexico. Amate bark paper is made from the peeled bark of the amate tree (Ficus species). It has a beautiful silky quality and depth; you can see the layers of bark that were flattened during the manufacturing process.
