1940’s Solid Elm Slat Back Church – Chapel Dining Chairs.
England has a wonderfully rich heritage for making chairs. At the height of production at the turn of the last century over 4500 chairs were being produced daily in the villages around High Wycombe. Each chair was hand made typically in Oak or Elm. Sadly Churches find non stacking chairs take up too much space so they find their way to us to for a second rich life. Handmade in Elm and Ash these are wonderful examples of a classic Church chair. Rich with colour, heavy and solid in weight, these are elegant slat backs. Look under the seats and you can see the original saw marks, slightly primitive, but honest and true. We service and wax each chair individually before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality.
Seat height: 45 cm.
We hold large stocks of original vintage chairs for private and commercial use. At time of listing we had 9 chairs in stock. The price listed is for one chair and you can order any quantity subject to the maximum available – for large orders please contact us for stock availability. Please note Pamono systems are unable to process multiple quantities past 9 units, to purchase more than this please contact Pamono and we will happily amend the listing to the quantity you wish to purchase. In most cases we have also already set up sets of four and six chairs to make the process easier. To locate these sets just search the product title.
Workshop Report: Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
