Holophane was founded in france in the late 19th century and they are famous for their inventing and perfecting borosilicate glass reflectors often with intricate cast glass patterns which give a diffused and beautiful light. These lamps are large scale factory light produced by holophane and increasingly hard to find. The lamp body is cast aluminium, the light source is a huge heavy holophane glass globe shade. Each lamp has been cleaned and restored and all electrical components have been removed and replaced with modern european ce standard components to bs en 60598. Each lamp is individually tested and labelled to bs en 60598. Included: each lamp comes completely wired and ready to install including; 2 metres of wire for hanging the lamps, 2 metres of black fabric covered electrical cable and a ceiling anchor point as shown. Each lamp is fitted with a standard e27 threaded lamp holder for which a wide range of modern and vintage style filament bulbs are widely available. We do not currently sell bulbs and recommend led bulbs 6w maximum. The lamp is currently wired and fitted for uk and eu compliance. The lamp can be wired for compliance in the us or any global market. Listing is for one lamp. Workshop report: we take electrical safety very seriously, our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that every lamp leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life.
