Davies-Putnam was part of Grand Rapids' era as the "Furniture City," which was the center of the industry from the 1870s through the 1930s. They primarily manufactured living room and library furniture.

The piece reflects classic American Colonial Revival design with clean lines, solid wood construction, and turned bun feet. The knobs were updated to these beautiful brass knobs and the original knobs will also be included.

The chest features two smaller upper drawers over two full-width lower drawers, offering generous storage while maintaining a compact footprint suitable for a bedroom, entry, or nursery. Drawer boxes are solid wood.

The original finish shows honest wear consistent with age, including surface scratches and finish wear to the top and edges, contributing to its authentic vintage character. Structurally solid and fully functional.
