The piece is characterized by a visually light, vertical cylindrical structure, constructed from curved bamboo rods assembled by hand. The design incorporates intersecting geometric motifs and circular elements applied to the lamp's body, ornamental features directly linked to the chinoiserie style, reinterpreted by Sognot within the context of postwar French design.

The suspension system, also made of bamboo, maintains absolute formal coherence with the lamp's body. It retains its full original length (77 cm), including the upper element, the articulated chain, and the original wiring—a rare feature, as these lamps are usually found shortened or with parts replaced.

The inner diffuser allows for a warm and enveloping light, highlighting the bamboo structure and projecting soft shadows that reinforce the decorative character and intimate atmosphere of the piece.
