Each sconce features a thick, vertically ribbed glass shade with a deeply textured, organic surface. Unlike the more commonly encountered clear versions, the reverse of the glass here is enriched with applied gold leaf, a detail that dramatically enhances the visual depth and theatricality of the light. When illuminated—especially in low, ambient conditions—the glass comes alive with a warm, glowing intensity, casting rich reflections and softly diffused shadows across the wall. The glass is secured to the backplate by the characteristic star-shaped brass pins, a functional yet highly decorative element emblematic of Fagerlund’s refined approach to detail. The brass mounts display a beautiful, naturally aged patina, providing a subtle contrast to the luminous, almost molten quality of the glass.
