A powerful French Modernist sideboard by Maison Regain, carved from solid elm with bold architectural doors and warm natural patina.
This sculptural sideboard by Maison Regain exemplifies the strength and purity of French mid-century craftsmanship. Produced in France during the 1960s, the piece is executed in solid elm, celebrated for its dense grain, warm honey tones, and enduring character. The façade features three boldly framed doors with carved vertical slats and integrated organic handles—signature Regain details that lend the piece a distinctly architectural presence. Elevated on robust square legs, the cabinet maintains a grounded, almost Brutalist stance while remaining refined and well-balanced. Behind the doors, the interior offers generous storage with shelves and drawers, making it highly practical as a credenza, sideboard, or low cabinet in both residential and professional interiors. The elm displays a rich, even patina with visible grain variation, enhancing the sculptural quality of the design.
Maison Regain was known for its commitment to solid wood construction and timeless forms, positioning this sideboard firmly within the lineage of post-war French Modernism. An excellent statement piece that pairs beautifully with mid-century, Brutalist, or contemporary interiors.
