Crafted in Italy circa the 1970s, it features a rectangular wooden form veneered in richly figured elm burl, offering a warm and luxurious visual depth. A finely executed brass band crosses the center of the lid, creating a harmonious visual link between the slender Art Deco–inspired handle and the central decorative element. The focal point is a silver-toned resin bas-relief medallion depicting Eos, the Greek goddess of dawn (Aurora in Roman mythology), shown riding a quadriga as she precedes the chariot of the Sun — a poetic and timeless mythological motif.
