Large Wrought Iron Candle Holder Wall Light, 1700, with 15 flames arranged on an elegant pyramid-shaped iron structure. This exceptionally large Italian piece is entirely handcrafted, a refined masterpiece of wrought iron, richly embossed and decorated with leaf motifs, elaborate curls, and soft scrolls.
The structure of this monumental 18th-century wall light consists of a wall sconce with 15 candle holders, which is inserted via a bayonet fitting onto the underlying base. This wrought iron support, though later, was likely created in the early 20th century to transform this antique iron wall light into a floor lamp, a conservatory lamp.
It comes from a private villa in Lombardy and is in good condition. It is not electrified, and given its impressive size, one could opt to use the wall light alone without the support.
