A set of 4 oak carved, french style antique chairs estimated to be late 1800's to early 1900's. Purchased in Germany by my parents while stationed in the Army. Two of the chairs are slightly taller than the other two meant to be end versus side chairs.
The lower chair showcases elegant craftsmanship, with carved blocks between the turned legs and stretchers and additional cross stretchers for both beauty and strength. Solid, high-quality construction, expertly made by skilled craftsmen. Upholstery has been updated more recently and professionally recovered.
2 of the chairs measure 44.5 inches tall x 18.25 wide at the seat and 16 inches deep.
2 of the chairs measure 41.5 inches tall x 17 wide at the seat and 16 inches deep.
All 4 chairs are 15 inches wide at the back.
