1950’s Original French Farmhouse Dining Chairs With Woven Seat.
These chairs date from the 1950’s, a simple classic farmhouse shape with a beautiful woven cane lattice seat. Please note these chairs feature the original cane seat. Cane seats are extremely beautiful and robust but must be used with some care. Our workshop checks the condition of all cane seats before dispatch to ensure they are strong enough for normal household use, not for heavy duty contract use. Please take care when using and avoid sharp or protruding objects in pockets. We regret we cannot guarantee the longevity of cane seating and as such it falls outside our returns terms.
The process of steam bending beech to create elegant chairs was discovered and developed by Thonet, but when its patents expired in 1869 many companies including Luterma launched production. Luterma was one of the brands marketed by Estonian factory A.M. Luther which was founded in the late 19th Century in Tallinn. Luthers production was principally in Estonia but they also had factories in France for local market production. At the time of the Bauhaus movement Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer worked with the factory to develop various models.
Seat Height: 46cm.
We hold large stocks of original vintage chairs for private and commercial use. At time of listing we had 31 chairs in stock. The price listed is for one chair and you can order any quantity subject to the maximum available – for large orders please contact us for stock availability. Please note Pamono systems are unable to process multiple quantities past 9 units, to purchase more than this please contact Pamono and we will happily amend the listing to the quantity you wish to purchase. In most cases we have also already set up sets of four and six chairs to make the process easier. To locate these sets just search the product title.
