Produced in the Netherlands during the 1970s, the table features a visually “floating” circular top composed of irregularly sized Norwegian slate fragments embedded in concrete, forming a richly textured, mosaic-like surface with strong natural variation.

The substantial top is supported by an architectural base crafted from hammered brass, displaying a deep, naturally aged patina. The open, geometric construction creates a striking contrast between mass and lightness, a defining characteristic of Kingma’s work and of European brutalist design of the period.

Often referred to as the “Pillarguri” model—named after the origin of the slate—the table stands as both a functional coffee table and a sculptural object. Its earthy palette and tactile surfaces make it particularly well-suited to refined modern, brutalist, and wabi-sabi interiors.
