Woven entirely by hand using wool pile on a wool foundation the rug displays the hallmarks of early Oushak production including a spacious open field soft pastel coloration and a restrained yet elegant decorative vocabulary. The composition features a lightly drawn central field accented by stylized floral and geometric motifs surrounded by a broad border filled with abstracted botanical forms.
