Absolutely stunning antique marble relief plaque of Alcibiades with the Courtesans
This is Alcibiades with the Courtesans, after a Hellenistic original on display in the Secret Cabinet (Gabinetto Segreto) in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples, Campania, Italy. This relief is in marble and has been relief carved in to the stone. Dating to the early part of the 19th century it most likely a Gran Tour example however its on the larger side for the travelers acquisition The condition is period perfect, there is age and use related patina all over as you would expect
