of French Belle Époque painting. The artwork dates to the second half of the 19th century and belongs to French antiquity.

The artwork is signed lower left “Lasellaz”, a French painter and watercolorist known for his galant and refined genre scenes.

Gustave François Lasellaz (1848–1910) studied under Justin Marie Lequien, a Parisian master who trained artists in drawing

and decorative arts. Lasellaz regularly exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, the most prestigious official exhibition

of the period, becoming a member in 1883.

His oeuvre ranges from elegant genre scenes to female portraits, often set within poetic or decorative interiors.

The painting is housed in a finely crafted original gilded frame from the period, enhancing its historical and decorative value.

Both the oil painting and the frame have undergone professional conservation and restoration.
