Dimensions (including the frame): height 112 cm, width 94 cm, depth 7 cm.

The composition is powerful and strongly vertical, with a pronounced sense of depth and striking contrasts between light, shadow, and rocky structure. Executed in oil on canvas, the work is neatly presented behind glass in its original, non-recent frame, giving the whole piece a refined and timeless presence.

The painting is signed and dated in the lower left on the front. The signature is written in Korean and is generally romanised as Park Jeon-yeol (also possible: Pak Jeon-yeol). Above the signature appears “61.11” (November 1961).

On the reverse, the green inscription includes “1961.” as well as the title 金剛山. This can be read as Kongōsan in Japanese and refers to Mount Kumgang / Geumgangsan, an iconic mountain in Korea (today located in North Korea). The artist’s name is also noted again on the back, partly in Chinese characters and partly in Korean script, consistent with the signature on the front.

The painting is in very good condition and, thanks to its scale, strong colour palette, and graphic rock forms, makes an impressive statement on the wall—equally at home in a clean, contemporary interior or a warmer, more eclectic setting. This piece has an attribution mark,
