Tower was the Sears Department store and Catalog company's in-house brand for a number of things, but of main concern to us is the 13 year period that the "Tower" brand typewriters were sold. Sears purchased runs of machines from a handful of manufacturers between Fall 1949 through Fall 1963 and sold them through their national distribution network throughout the USA and Canada. After 1963, the "Tower" brand was dropped from typewriters in favor of simply the Sears brand in the USA.
Cosmetically speaking, this typewriter is in good shape. There are a few scratches here and there. The typewriter itself is fairly clean inside and out. The case is in good shape and functional. Please see the pictures for details on the condition of the typewriter.
Case measurements are 13" wide x 5.75" high x 13" deep.
Typewriter measurements are 12.75" wide x 5" high x 12.5" deep.
Wear consistent with age and use. Good vintage condition.
