A saintly figure, to protect the liqueur.
Created in the 1950s by the hazelnut liqueur producers 'Julien & Labbe' in Orléans, this carafe symbolizes Joan of Arc, the 15th-century martyr saint and the principal emblem of the city of Orléans, known for liberating it from the English invasion on May 8, 1429.
Beautifully crafted, this Joan of Arc is depicted as the warrior saint, arms crossed in prayer, sword near her heart, and face uncovered while still wearing her armor, standing upright. She is the figure of a young woman who remains true to her convictions, even unto death.
