The painting depicts a bright Alpine landscape dominated by the imposing peaks of the Rosengarten massif, here viewed from the evocative area of Lake Wuhn (Wuhnleger), renowned for its privileged view of the Catinaccio group and its grassy slopes dotted with traditional wooden farmhouses.

In the background, the characteristic jagged outline of the Rosengarten massif rises, rendered in soft pink and pearl-grey tones that evoke the clear light of the early morning hours.

In the foreground stretches a wide grassy slope crossed by a path that guides the viewer’s gaze towards the wooden farmhouses typical of the Dolomites. The huts, placed at different elevations along the mountainside, are depicted with realistic attention to detail: shingle roofs, balconies, and wooden structures perfectly integrated into the landscape. A low stone wall follows the line of the incline, suggesting ancient agricultural terracing.

The green masses of meadows and forests contrast with the delicate hues of the distant peaks, creating a harmonious composition rich in atmospheric depth. The work conveys a strong sense of tranquillity, unspoiled nature, and visual balance.
