A Lopo house is a communal hut where the tribe convenes with a second story used to store grains and other food. It is through a door like this one where the second floor of a Lopo hit is accessed. This door features a wonderful age related patina, tribal carvings on its top side as well as buffalo horns which adore the top of the door. Buffalo are seldom found on these doors it is more common for bird figures to be carved into the door. The buffalo symbolizes strength and fertility. A wonderfully sculptural object to bring warmth to any space. See less
