The … Read more There is a dreamlike, almost magical quality to this petite Mid-century cityscape by Italian Modernist Giuseppe Di Lieto (1926-2004). The soft peach and gold highlights of the architecture make the little town seem to almost glow against an inky blue sea. A haze of rusty gold cliffs blend into the background. Vegetation is portrayed with rounded geometric shapes in olive and emerald. And tiny defined strokes give definition and movement to the landscape. Listed artist, Di Lieto, favored the cliffside towns of the Amalfi Coast as his subjects, but gave them an otherworldly and often surrealistic quality. This one is a little jewel of a piece at only 12.75 x 13.5 inches framed (10 x 10.5 painting) and is an especially beautiful example of Di Lieto's work. See less
