Artist & Provenance
Hannes Glaeser (1915–2005) was a German-born ceramist, painter, and teacher who worked extensively in Sweden. He taught at Viggbyholm School during the 1950s and co‑founded Föreningen Täby Artistes in 1962 with English sculptor Clarence Blum. Glaeser later established his own workshop in Täby, producing ceramics and utility objects signed “HG.” He returned to Germany in the mid‑1970s and passed away in 2005. He was awarded the Culture Prize in 1974. Harbour Motif with Boats reflects his painterly sensitivity to rhythm and atmosphere, capturing the layered character of maritime life with tonal depth.
