An elegant and sculptural Korean brass candlestick dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, featuring a beautifully balanced vertical form and richly symbolic ornamentation.
This piece includes a circular butterfly reflector plate centered with a floral medallion, a pierced longevity character panel, and a suspended lotus bud-form candle snuffer. Butterflies are traditional symbols of joy, transformation, and harmony in East Asian art, while the longevity character represents long life and auspicious fortune.
The surface displays a warm, naturally developed patina that enhances the depth and character of the brass. Minor surface wear and tonal variation are consistent with age and contribute to the authenticity of the piece. Structurally excellent.
