The signature "Schober München" (with minor variation in lettering due to hand-impressed execution) is characteristic of this well-known Munich-based Gipsformer (plaster molder), Bildhauer (sculptor), and art/antique dealer, renowned for producing decorative reproductions and casts in the historicist/neo-Baroque style.

The relief depicts a dynamic, romantic-heroic battle scene: a chaotic cavalry charge with galloping horses, warriors wielding swords and shields, flowing capes or banners, fallen figures, and allegorical elements evoking movement and drama. The composition draws inspiration from 19th-century Romantic painters (such as influences from Eugène Delacroix or German historicists), yet adapted into a decorative, accessible format.
