This was used to secure a horse and buggy. Upon arrival it was moved from the carriage to the ground and used to tie up the horses. Very heavy weight. Measures 6" tall x 4 1/2" square at the base. The thick ring moves freely within its collar. Old pleasing surface. The construction of this piece is reminiscent of the rings along the Seine used to tether boats. Marked on the top with "28". Good condition - some loss and wear with age. Presents well. Makes a handsome door stop. See less
