Up for sale is a very rare antique 17th century (Ming Dynasty) hand carved Chinese Immortal Taoist sculpture with hidden compartment.
The sculpture is carved by hand with exquisite detailing and features a red lacquer cinnabar and applied shiny gold leaf finish.
The sculpture was made to hold precious valuables in the hollowed interior with a hidden access panel on the back along with behind the head.
The sculpture is in nice antique condition with a lovely patina from age and measures 17 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches back to front.
It has ware from age, with finish loss in areas along with around the back compartment.
