The wooden base seems to be covered partially in the same type of material as the body and hat are. The carriage or basic structure is done with various metal. I note washers and wire with possibly rebar. The dress and body appear to be possibly cloth with some type of media that hardened and became rigid. The form itself covered in a brutalist bronze gold color. An older brown felt on the bottom lends me to believe this unsigned work was created in the mid 20th century. Cannot find a signature on the piece or one like it for reference. Very stylized flowing movement in this static sculpture. Great detail was added to the entire garment and base etc. Great relief texture with various repeated symbols. The hat is quite interesting with a multi tentacled type design. The face location seems to allow for imagination, with long hair strait out in back. Skirt portion is deliberately left open in places and the inside area under neath is finished as well. Wonderfully executed sculpture in all aspects. Approximatley 10 lbs. See less
