An Empire-period porcelain cup and saucer from the Giesshübel (Kysibl) factory, produced in Bohemia in the early 19th century. The factory played a significant role in the development of refined Bohemian porcelain aligned with contemporary European taste.
Under the leadership of Benedikt Knaute, Giesshübel production reached a high level of technical and decorative quality, allowing its wares to compete with leading French Empire porcelain.
The set is decorated with a deep green ground and extensive gilding, and the pedestal form of the cup reflects Empire-period taste.
Factory marks were frequently omitted during this period.
Early Empire cup and saucer sets from Giesshübel are scarce today, particularly examples retaining their original decorative surfaces.

Saucer: diameter 13.7 cm; height 3.4 cm; weight 174 g.
Condition
Saucer: minor wear to painted decoration and gilding; otherwise good antique condition.
Cup: strong wear to the gilding inside the cup; otherwise good antique condition.
