The detail in the carving is very realistic being almost lifelike in proportion. The wood is heavy and dense, a hardwood like black walnut. The parrot hugs his left side near his cheek, looking on as well. The hat is detailed from every view. Bottom shows the ruff carving method used to begin the form. Some discoloration on the base from age. Marble top table in photo is not included. See less
