This expressive porcelain bust of a horse's head was designed in 1949 by the sculptor Erich Oehme (1889–1970) for the renowned Meissen Porcelain Manufactory. The richly detailed model captivates with its naturalistic design, the finely crafted facial features of the horse, and its dynamically shaped mane.
The sculpture is made of white glazed porcelain and mounted on a wooden base. This work is one of the classic animal sculptures of the early post-war period and demonstrates the high technical and artistic level of Meissen porcelain production around 1950.
Thanks to its timeless expression and clean lines, this object complements both classic and modern interiors—an impressive statement piece with a museum-quality feel. This piece has an attribution mark,
