This original mid-20th-century abstract expressionist still life, signed ‘TOMA’ (artist unidentified), exemplifies the bold color, gestural brushwork, and modernist energy characteristic of the period.
The composition—featuring a mandolin, a turquoise vessel with kitchen utensils, and vibrant fruit—reflects a classic European-inspired still-life theme reinterpreted through expressive abstraction.
Richly textured paint and confident line work give the piece strong visual presence, while the subject matter makes it exceptionally versatile for mid-century modern, eclectic, or Italianate interiors. The painting is presented in an ornate, period-appropriate carved gold-toned frame that significantly enhances its decorative and collectible value.
