This vintage 5x9 Persian Kilim is a mid-century tribal rug that we believe originates from the Shahsavan tribe.
On the Design:
Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, its design enjoys a colorful play of stripes and geometric patterns. Keen eyes will admire the sheer variety of hues, and the effort it would take nomadic weavers to achieve their variations and the sense of movement they achieve. It’s a fabulous choice from Shahsavan rugs in its period, and exemplary of the personal nature that Persian flatweaves embody.
Condition:
This mid-century Persian Shahsavan Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
