It is stamped on the back as seen in the last photo. It is probably cast in spelter, and finished to look like a gilded bronze. John Bernard Hirsch was a French immigrant, but his company was based in the United States. The cellist is missing his bow, but otherwise everything else is intact. The lamp is in good working order and I have been using it in my home for years. I am including the sweet little beaded lampshades, as that is how I always used it and I think they look very nice. The 14 inch dimension is the overall height with the lampshades. See less
