Made entirely of high-quality, pure wool, the distinctive element of this piece is the Rya weaving technique, an ancient Scandinavian tradition that reached its creative peak in the 1960s and 1970s. Unlike flat weaving, the Rya technique involves the manual or mechanical insertion of knots that create a long, dense pile; the result is an exceptionally soft, resilient surface capable of lending three-dimensional depth to the graphic motifs.
