One painting features a ruddy palm tree and the other appears to be a close-up of flame in the darkness of night. Both paintings are composed of dynamic and dramatically bold brushstrokes for maximum impact.

These original artworks were painted by Harry Jelinek (1905-1986), who was born in Czechloslovakia and worked in Italy. The palm tree painting is signed "Jelinek '70" on the bottom right corner. The flame painting is signed "Jelinek '72" on the bottom left corner. The paintings are framed very simply in white wood and ready to hang. They measure 21 3/4 inches wide by 27 1/4 inches high.
