Japanese Studio Pottery Sake Set, Mid-Century Stoneware, Set of 6
A hand-thrown Japanese studio pottery sake set dating to the mid-20th century, composed of one traditional tokkuri bottle and six sakazuki cups. Crafted in stoneware and finished in a soft, natural ash glaze with subtle celadon-gray tones, the set exhibits organic firing variation and intentional glaze pooling typical of Japanese folk and mingei-influenced ceramics.
The bottle is accented with a hand-painted brush motif and a beautifully executed faceted base. The cups are well-balanced with gently flared rims, designed for both functional use and display.
Unmarked, as is common with studio pottery of this period.
