A rare and extraordinarily elegant work of art, signed by master sculptor Benvenuto Gattolin. This sculpture represents a magnificent example of mid-twentieth-century Italian Modernism, a period in which formal research tended toward essentiality and purity of line.
Subject and Style: The work depicts a female figure (or stylized torso) standing with a noble and proud verticality. The bronze surface features a warm and vibrant golden patina, crafted with a texture that dynamically captures the light. The form is sinuous, devoid of superfluous anatomical details, allowing the viewer to sense feminine grace. The sculpture rests on a solid cylindrical base made of solid wood, whose warm color creates a perfect chromatic union with the metal.
Signature: The artist's extended signature "Gattolin" is clearly engraved on the lower back of the bronze, guaranteeing its authenticity.
The Artist: Benvenuto Gattolin was born in 1942 in Cavarzere (Venice) - June 18, 2023. He was an important art master and sculptor, known for his versatility in fields such as painting, restoration, and set design. He spent much of his life and career in Umbria, particularly between Bastia Umbra and Assisi.
Gattolin is known for his ability to synthesize the human figure into fluid, almost abstract forms. His works, often in bronze or ceramic, are sought after by collectors for their strong emotional expressiveness captured in minimalist lines.
