Oil on masonite. Origin italy period first half of the twentieth century author alberto ferrero (turin, 1883 – 1963) was a piedmontese painter who trained at the accademia albertina in turin. His work is mainly linked to landscapes, with views of the piedmont hills, monferrato and the langhe, often treated with soft, luminous tones, in a post-impressionist language of a calm and lyrical taste. He participated regularly in the exhibitions of the società promotrice delle belle arti of turin and other regional shows of the early twentieth century, achieving recognition in the local artistic community. He lived and worked for a long time in moncalieri, where he was a reference figure for the piedmontese landscape tradition. He is remembered as a sensitive interpreter of the hilly nature, rendered with compositional balance and attention to atmospheric variations.
