Dimensions: Height x Width x Depth 75 x 159 x 56 cm. For sale is an impressive, rustic chest in the large-scale Gerber style, with a robust softwood body and authentic character. The piece is in its original, natural condition and impresses with its powerful presence and craftsmanship. The elaborately designed front features three inset panels with finely executed, symbolic representations. The central panel depicts an idealized architectural scene, reminiscent of a sacred interior, symbolizing protection, permanence, and a connection to the home. The side panels show stylized flower vases as symbols of life and domestic order. This imagery is typical of Alpine folk art and lends the chest its special depth and tranquility. The body is made of solid softwood and is clean, dry, and fragrant inside. The original lock is present.
