A pair of eight-branched silvered and gilded bronze table candelabras from the second half of the 19th century, crafted with an exuberant rocaille decoration rich in sinuous curves and plant motifs, held by two gilded angels. These two imposing 19th-century candlesticks have baluster stems supported by cupids, eight scrolled arms, and are an extraordinary example of 19th-century Italian craftsmanship, meticulously crafted with attention to detail and the meticulously chiseled finishing of the floral details.
The contoured, multi-lobed bases, supported by four leaf-shaped feet, lend stability and regal elegance to the candelabras, while the arrangement of eight candlestick arms on three tiers creates a pyramidal effect that enhances the lightness of the ornamental elements.
The result is both monumental due to the size of the large candlesticks and harmonious. The choice of a two-tone finish, combining the silvering of the frame with the gilding of the two cherubs seated on a rock, creates a fascinating color contrast that visually enriches these works, with their flowing forms and intertwined leafy and floral motifs. The flat, shallow back design makes them perfect for use in confined spaces, such as console tables or wall tables.
Originally from Northern Italy, they are in perfect condition.
