The original was painted in 1761 and can be seen at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The one we are presenting was created in the 19th century. It has the same dimensions as the original. The subject of the painting depicts an 18th-century village interior, where a father is seen paying his daughter's dowry to her fiancé, who listens attentively to the old man's words. The painting is presented in a beautiful giltwood and stucco frame with a small chip in the upper left corner (see photo). Good overall condition. DIMENSIONS: 1.44m x 1.17m with frame; 1.21m x 0.91m visible canvas. See less
