Up for sale is a rare antique 19th century handmade Chinese Daoist Deity Xuanwu sculpture.
It's completely carved by hand out of wood and depicts Xuanwu standing on a stylized turtle.
The piece is nicely painted and has acquired a lovely patina from age.
The statue measures 7 3/4 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide.
The figure removes from the base as shown in last photo.
There is some surface ware, small losses, and is missing his hands.
