A monumental and emotionally resonant bronze sculpture by renowned Mexican artist Victor Salmones (1935–1989), titled “El Primogénito” ("The Firstborn"). Sculpted and cast in the early 1980s in Puerto Vallarta, this powerful work captures the intimate, instinctive bond between a father and his firstborn child—a theme that resonates deeply in Salmones’ figurative oeuvre and remains highly sought after by collectors of Mexican and Latin American art.
Rendered with the artist’s signature anatomical precision and expressive modeling, the father lifts his child onto his shoulders, their bodies intertwined in a gesture of trust, pride, and lineage. Salmones masterfully conveys the emotional weight of this moment, celebrating the unique connection traditionally felt with a firstborn—an heir, a legacy, and the continuation of the family line.
This limited edition is signed, titled, and numbered 5/10, with a rich green-bronze patina and beautifully sculpted surfaces. Presented on its original polished stone base with engraved brass plaque, and accompanied by a custom pedestal, the sculpture reaches an impressive 72 inches (182.88 cm) in height—ideal for entryways, double-height living spaces, luxury residences, art-driven interiors, and gallery environments.
A striking statement piece for interior designers, architects, and serious collectors seeking museum-quality Mexican sculpture.
