This painting is a very good example of Barrios' love of working with bright colors and fantasy motifs. He also enjoyed working with various paint textures, from shiny gloss to more muted sheens. This painting is also a good example of his occasional use of a reduction type of paint to create both depth and an aged look to his works. The reduction paint shrinks and forms a crackle or crazing look to the paint. His technique creates a contrast and sharpness to the images setting his works apart from many other artists. His characters seem to stand out from the background while drawing the viewer more into the paintings themselves.

This painting is acrylic on canvas and is mounted in an ornate frame. The framed painting is approximately 19.25 inches wide, 31 inches tall, and 2.75 inches thick. It is in very nice previously-owned condition. Please examine the photos for detail. Photos are part of the description.

Barrios' works have been sold and exhibited throughout the world. He was born in Tacna, Peru in 1960 and developed an interest in art that lead him to enroll in the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes del Peru from which he was graduated in 1990. Afterward he began his career in the art world. After years of exhibiting art in his native Peru, Barrios became well-known for his fine art, due to years of hard work developing a unique and vibrant style. From then on, his masterpieces paved his way to international fame through art sales and exhibitions.
