The work, painted in oil on canvas, depicts an atmospheric Mediterranean scene featuring the Prince's Palace of Monaco, the coastline, and ships. The painting bears the marks of its age, which only adds to its characteristic charm. Wear and tear, discoloration, and various old repairs give it extra authenticity. The vibrant colors and impressive size also make the work particularly impressive. Because the painting has been hung many times over the years, old nail holes have appeared in the edges. We have used these to securely attach the canvas to a wooden slat with old copper nails, making it easy and safe to hang. All in all, this is a unique, exclusive, and extremely decorative object.
